Although less developed for golfers than Phuket and Phang Nga further up the coast, Krabi does have some choice golf courses in spectacular tropical surroundings with rubber plantations, limestone Karsks and sea views all part of a typical round.

To practice your swing before you hit the fairways, head for Krabi Golf Driving Range, an all-weather facility that allows everyone from beginners to pros to enjoy practicing in a stunning environment.  It's ppen from 3pm until 10pm each day and features animated golf ball feeding equipment as well as a team of professionals available for private lessons.

Pakasai Country Club is an 18 hole, 6,573 yard course located are on a hillside surrounded by lakes, forest and stunning panoramas approximately  25 miles south of Krabi town. Prices start below 3000 Baht per person and this includes transfers, caddy and green fees,  as well as driving range warm up and practice balls, umbrella and post game shoe and club cleaning.

The Thai Muang Golf Course, designed by Perry Dye, os an 18-Hole, Par 72 links course and the only championship golf course in Thailand located right next to the ocean.  Recently renovated, it is now considered to be of an equally high standard to the more famous courses in Phuket. Fees start at around 3300 Baht and include a personal guide, round trip transfers, caddy and golf fees,  warm up on the driving range including balls and one 18-hole round.

For a truly unique Thai  golfing experience, try the Royal Thai Navy Sports Development Centre, which includes the 18-hole Royal Thai Navy golf course, located on one of the region's most spectacular bays towards Khao Lak. Open to the public since its upgrade to 18 holes in 2000, this par 72 course measures 6825 yards from the medal tees. Prices for a full round start at around 3,000 Baht per person.

For those with less time and energy to spare, the new nine-hole golf course at the Sofitel Krabi Phokeethra Golf & Spa is located within the premises of the resort. It is managed by the hotel and a part of the resort facilities. The course is the only nine-hole option in Krabi, unless you request to play only the fron or the back nine at of one of the larger courses in the region, an option that is often available for visitors.
